I have decided to stop fighting Google from within Google’s products. I regularly put 10+ hours of research and fact-finding into my YouTube videos exposing H-1B fraud. I post the videos on YouTube and it’s clear that people want the information. I get to say the thing that everyone is thinking but nobody is allowed to say and Google punishes me for it. Despite stellar metrics across my fraud videos, Google shows them to nearly nobody. In fact, most of them don’t even reach your home page on YouTube even if you’re subscribed to my channel. Could it perhaps be due to the fact that YouTube’s moderation and support teams largely sit in their India campus? Could it perhaps be due to the fact that Google filed for 9,297 visas last year (over 70% of those from India)?
The people determining who gets to see videos exposing fraud are participants in the fraud, of course they are going to suppress my political content.
Effective immediately I’m making a the following sweeping changes to my content strategy.
The DrJ Channel on YouTube is about tech.
I will continue to go autism-level-deep on cybersecurity, hacking, and system design implications of our modern tech stack. I enjoy doing this and it’s clear that there is a hungry audience for this type of content. H-1B fraud content on YouTube is done. I have privated most of my political commentary videos on YouTube at this point.
X is the global town square
I will, of course, keep fighting fraudulent immigration schemes that harm the American worker. All of this content (including videos) will now live on my X https://x.com/drjoshcsimmons
X has been a lovely medium where my pro-American content is not rabidly suppressed and as a result I’ve grown my account from 0→10k followers in just six months. The correct people are resonating with what I am doing on X.
My long form writing will continue to focus primarily on think-pieces that bring these seemingly disparate parts together. I am trying to grow on YouTube and X. I am not trying to grow my newsletter at this time. This is a feature not a bug. You should only be reading this if you are here for the unadulterated alpha that flows from my raw ideas. These ideas are at the core of everything I produce but they’re not shaped to be “hooky” “viral” or “for mass consumption”.
